Anyone else in the path of Hurricane Sandy?

so far here in nyc nothing but light rain and wind, i wish it would stay that way for the duration, but they say so far it's gonna hit hard.. .

I live in Tampa Bay Florida. I am on vacation in Northern Ohio. The hurricane has knocked out Electricity in one place I was visiting and knocked out the cable and internet in another place where i am staying. There are heavy winds and heavy rains and flooding thru out the Cleveland/Akron area.

when i was a child i used to hope celebrities i liked (or wanted to boink) died before armageddon.

When I was a kid back in the 50's, I was led to believe if you died before Armegeddon

and were not a witness, that was it because

in most of the civilized world the witnessing had been done so, therefore those who died who

were not witnesses had rejected the message just like the people in Noahs day. Maybe I was missinformed

or maybe they have had many and various new lights since my day.

i worked with hank aaron's daughter for 18 months.

she was a sweet lady.

Back in the 90's, when I would go work out in World Gym in Largo Florida, Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage

would always be in there working out and I would talk to Hulk about music and Harley Davidsons.

I would see Hulk Hogan all over Pinellas county, restaurants, night clubs, vitamin stores and he

always said Hello.

When you comunicate with the elder JW's you are playing their game.

You can not win when you play their game.

You will loose when you play their game and you will be punished.

Ultimately you will be disfellowhiped if you keep playing their game.

You say you havent been to a kingdom hall in 3 years and havent associated with witnesses.

Is not that better than being disfellowshiped?

The governing bodies master plan is for none of them to have to get a job

at 7-11.

Is Pacifism Ethical?

in another thread about things the watchtower got right two posters have expressd agreement with the fact that the wt refuses to take part in war.. i don't want to derail that thrread so what's your thoughts on pacifism?.

personally i think there are times that killing your enemies is regrettably the lesser of two evils.. .

A country has to have a military and be prepared and willing to protect itself.

At the same time a country like the USA is constantly being jacked around by capitalist

armaments manufacturing interest.

The armaments manufacturers stir up the pot to drum up business. Russia sells weapons to a country then the

US wants to go in and fight them.

This has been going on thru out history and for all time. War is big business. And the children of the poor and the

working class are cannon fodder.

In my opinion the only war the US should have been involved in for the last 2 hundred years was our own

Civil war. That is the only war that was of concern to the mass of the US citizens.

We have been involved in all the wars we have because we are controlled by capitalist compaines

and we are the largest weapons armaments manufacturer in the world.

So, our capitalist US compaines are going to stir up the war pot so they can make money.

Maybe the question is war ethical, would be more appropriate.

what do you like as a gift?

i have absolutely no idea what to make or give my son-in-law for his birthday or for christmas.

he has all the newest gadgets which i could not afford anyways so i am stumped.. gotta be inexpensive (on a strict budget) and if i can make it all the better.
